However, it is now alleged that Fieramusca was never pregnant at all.
“Magen Fieramusca presented Heidi Broussard’s newborn child as her own to her boyfriend, Christopher Green,” an arrest affidavit claimed.
Fieramusca had broken up with Mr Green after falling pregnant, but they were still living together.
Mr Green told investigators he never saw his ex-girlfriend’s bare stomach while she was pregnant, but believed she was carrying his child.
Baby Margot was born on November 25, and Fieramusca was in the delivery room when her friend’s baby was born, the arrest affidavit said.
According to Mr Carey, his fiancée told him that Fieramusca then gave birth to a baby girl on December 8 or 9.
Fieramusca later told investigators that she went into labour on December 12 and delivered her baby at a birthing centre in Houston, but she could not remember the centre’s name, according to the arrest affidavit.
Fieramusca said she brought the baby home on December 12, the affidavit said.
When detectives showed Mr Green a flier with a photo of missing baby Margot, he allegedly told them “that’s the baby at my house”.
When police officers arrived at Fieramusca’s home near Houston it’s alleged they smelled the “unmistakable odour of decomposing flesh” coming from the boot of her Nissan Versa.
Inside they found a woman’s body, the court documents said.
Fieramusca it yet to face court on the charges of kidnapping and tampering with a human corpse and the district attorney’s office told ABC News they were examining the possibility of other charges, including capital murder.
Lawyers for Fieramusca told ABC News in a statement that the “cursory information” in the affidavit was “nothing more than mere allegations”.
“We call upon patience and resisting the rush to judgement until all the facts are in,” the statement said.
